3rd Jan 2006

Today is the first day of the first 3 months of the PAE of the Prelims of the O levels of the year 2005 of the MI (Millenia Institute).

I was eagerly anticipating what will happen on the first day of Orientation... and i must say i am quite disappointed... hah... sorry... but i have to say this... "this".

First of all, the campus is in really bad condition... i mean i wont mind the classrooms cause it was quite standard... like in a Primary School though.  But later, after the break... there was this series of lectures held in the hall... It's like thousand plus students, most of which huge squeezing into the hall... sitting down for 3 hours... It was really torturous... My butt and legs ache... I was thinking, "luckily i dont have piles or they would have burst..." It reminded me of my Primary School days... but much worse... hai...

Fortunately, we will not have any more of the lectures... haha...

I must admit i am kinda anti-social today... i must be open tomorrow.. Yeah, walk around make some friends... yeah man...

yeah right...

Shades
Today is the start of the year 2006... Which is also the year embark on my 17th trip around the sun.  Btw, happy new year all...

I must say that 2005 is quite a great year, so... let me say it, "2005 is quite a great year." ok. There were many great movies released, i suddenly changed my taste in music and many others.

Main events in 2005:
Alpha and Omega of NCO-ship in NP (got silver cane Big Smile)
'O' levels, though is Ordinary level but can be scary...
16, which i  just became 6 days ago
Made great friends and all...

There are actually many others but i cant remember.

Hmmm, come to think of it... i dont really have a NYR (New Year's Resolution)... damnit, CMFM MPP la...  But basically, just to do well academically and some other stuff... heh. What else...?

Good luck for the year 2006...

Lionel Richie - Truly

Girl, tell me only this
That I'll have your heart for always
And you want me by your side
Whispering the words I'll always love you

And forever I will be your lover
And I know if you really care
I will always be there

Now I need to tell you this
There's no other love like your love
And I, as long as I live,
I'll give you all the joy

My heart and soul can give

Let me hold you
I need to have you near me
And I feel with you in my arms
This love will last forever

Because I'm truly
Truly in love with you girl
I'm truly head over heels with your love
I need you, and with your love I'm free
And truly, you know you're alright with me.

=)

20th September 2005

Wow, it has been more than a month since i updated...  heh. Lots has happened...

Prelims is over today.

Overview:
Chinese: A2 ('O' Levels)
English:  It was quite bad, and i had no confidence of getting an A.
Physics: Paper 1 was pretty screwed. Paper 2 was easier to me, though a lot others thought otherwise.
Chemistry: It was a luck game to me.  I had guessed a lot of things and all that i mugged for so long had come to nothing at all...  I cannot remember much and i guess you don't always reap what you sowed...
Humans: History was quite bad as i didnt complete 1 whole SBQ and half done another SBQ.  SS was ok and i completed everything.
AM: AM was screwed... Hai...  I didn't understand how to get about doing quite a lot of sums.
EM: EM to me is the easiest paper of all... I am quite confident of a distinction.

I guess i might have a 3 months holiday break instead of spending my time in my preferred JC. But i know i already have an affiliated 2 points to CJC. So if worse comes to worst, i go CJC (actually CJ not a bad choice).  However, another factor is very important in my decision-making. hmmm...

What else did i do for the past month...

I bought a soccer ball as i decided i wanted to improve on my soccer skills, which i think i did kinda improve quite a bit since i have been playing quite a bit of soccer.  Today, i also went and my friends and i played with the JC peeps.  They are good and we got thrashed... But usually, we would thrash those primary school soccer team kids even if they outnumber us.  haha... (nothing to be proud of actually since they are primary school)

  This is the ball.

Yesterday is the Mooncake festival.  It is on the 15th day of the 8th month in the lunar calendar.  I ate quite a bit of mooncakes and then there was this performance just across my house (across the road).  I just came back from McDonald's at Bukit Gombak to study my formulae for Maths.  When i reached, it was this fire-breather performing.  He "swallowed" a few sticks of flame and then he went on to do his fire-breathing act.  It was quite cool actually.

Before the act...

During the act... (the man in yellow seems more alert eh?)

Moon on MoonCake Festival...  So round and big... like... like... a... mooncake... (sorry... a bit lame)

"If there is a dead end up ahead, maybe there is hope at the corner."

This is quoted from a movie, titled "If you care..." but it is in mandarin (jing ying xian sheng).  It is about a guy that is very uncaring and inconsiderate.  Then one day, he had an accident which causes his hand to be able to read others' mind when in contact to their hand.

From then on, he keep accidentally touch peoples' hands and when he does, he puts himself in their shoes and then he helps them...  After that he started to become more and more caring and he also met his childhood friend, who later was really upset with him cause of his uncaringness.  Then at the end of the movie, he helped his arch-rival and also he was at a scene which a fire broke out and he could run away, but he didnt and saved a lot of people and a dog.  Upon seeing this on the news, his childhood friend who likes him too was touched as their childhood ambition is to be a fireman which he didnt keep to it.  She came to the scene and they lived happily ever after. Quite a nice show but it's pretty lame at some parts of it.

Last friday was really scary.  We heard that our O levels Chinese result would be out by then.  Thus, we were all on high alert.  We keep hearing out for, "dang dang dang, attention all classes, sorry for this interuption..." Then, during Physics lesson, just before recess, the announcement came and we were told to come back to class after recess and that form tutors would take the result slip from the AO (admin Office).  hmm, most anxious recess i had... I was hoping hard that i would get a B3 cause i have been doing really badly in my Chinese Bi-weeklies.  I would be really happy if i could even get a B.  Then finally, "Vincent Tak Ng, A1, Oral ___ (forgot), Yong JianLong, A2, Oral Distinction."  I was stunned for a second and shocked, i got an A!  It was totally unexpected!  I even said to my classmate next to me... "i sure get C6 lah..." Woah, this is one of the happiest moment of my life! Thank God!  I then went to msg my parents and sms my friend from another school.  My parents were really happy.

Dad: "Good work well done"
Mom: "Well done keep up yr gond work mummy verry very happy hope u do well in all other subjects"

Haha, I think that this is the first time i made my parents so happy. =)  When i came back home, i found some chocolate and a bottle of drink in my table. And with it is a note saying that it is a small reward of my good grade.  Haha, how nice. =D

Guess i will blog till here, have to study SS for tomorrow class revision/test.  Then after school got supervised study until 5pm... haiii... a bit the sian lah, so long...  But of my friends worse, got supervised study and night study!  that is like 730 - 2130... Siao one!  jia you... i doubt i can tahan for so long lah... but i think that they will really do well if they can really study!

All O lvl takers for 2005, JIA YOU and work out way to a better future! =D

10th August 2005

St. Joseph's Institution 153rd Annual Parade

On the 8th August is the day SJI celebrates National Day.  As usual for the past ____(fill in the blacks, 1 mark) years, SJI's way of celebrating is having mass in the morning to bless the flags of the SJI UGOs and all. Afterwhich, we would proceed to the hall to sing songs and pray and all.  This year, there are also guests from the St. Joseph's Home and an elderly lady would be celebrating her birthday and cutting a cake in front of all of us!  Had quite a fun time.  Then we did cheers! HAIL ALMA MATER!!!

Later, i then proceeded to SJI NPCC HQ (for the last time) to deposit my stuff and then go to BPP (bukit Panjang Plaza) for lunch.  Later, we went to tanglin CC to play some basketball and we were all really... "pro"...  The number of times we each got into the basket can be counted using just 1 hand...

We were all anxious to go back to school as we were told that Mr. Lee said he had a surprise for us.  We waited and we were asked to go to the LT2.  we sat there and then we watched a presentation about my squad and all the pictures.  All the fond memories and everything...  Quite nice of the Officers to present them to us.... =) Thanks Officers -salute-...  We were also given a 'Thank You' card (Thanks and welcome!) and a personal copy of the presentation.  So nice of them... AHhhh... =)

Afterwhich, we went to Police Academy (for the last time as NPCC cadet) and drew our M16s.  I remember my numberis 159. =) Hope we meet again rifle. And we went back to school to change into No.1 Uniform.  =)  Then we had some Kaya Bun that is so dry i didnt want to finish it and a can of yi bai jia (100 plus). =)

Finally, it was time for us to march in for honour, for glory, for SJINPCC.  As i marched on, I thought to myself, this is the last time i get to do this and i must do it properly!  I tried my best to perform every drills to perfection, hope i didnt do anything wrong, did I?  Then it was the long prize-giving and speeches.  Wow, that is the part i hated most... But luckily, the Guest-of-Honour this time didnt say too much things, heng ahh...  Oh yesh, during inspection, the GOH (Guest, not Guard) asked me a question that was totally not related to the parade.

GOH: "What class you in?"
-stoning, and finally realised....-
Me: "err, 409 SIR!"
-GOH nods-
-I smiled-
-continued stoning-

Yeah, what a question...

After the parade, all the Sec4s threw up their beret and peak caps.  ah what a scene, if anyone captured that scene please send me.  We then proceeded to return our Arms to our kind police officer and then we popped our "Sparkling".  It actually self popped cause Aaron shook so many times... =/ then we just down the foams into our mouth. ahha.  Then it was the gang bang ceremony and all... As usual kena carried and thrown around. ahaha, buttons went missing for a while but i found.

AFter which, few of my squadmates went to Paradise to play lan... So long since i touched LAN... Hmm... i like their mouse, ahaha, got light at the scrolling thingy....

So... Sec3s hope you all do a good job in running SJINPCC, will be back to help in CC Com 2006. =)

5th August 2005

Today is the last AP training in my life... Haha, thus i decided to put my name down in a record.

We first trained at the Hall for contingence plan, it was rather stuffy and i couldnt take it. >.<

Then finally, fresh air, we were out in the oopen, then i was thining... Last AP training, must leave a name for myselff.....

Thus, when the PC, HO of SJINPCC, Mr Alger Lu, was asking for permission to dismiss the parade, thie happened...

"dannel, i not feeling well, wana faint..."
"jianlong, only a while more..."
-pretended to vomit-
"ahhh, cannot!"
"jianlong, kneel down kneel down!"
-kneels down-

Sjab comes...

-Take out beret take out gloves, passes rifle to sjab and walks with them-

Then i went to SJAB post and wrote my name on the record of people falling out. =D i have my name on a record! YESH! later i drank water and met up with my squadmate and went for another round without falling out.

The last parade rehearsal was quite funny.  Arun, my squadmate didnt bring his uniform or something, then he helped the PC to hold the loudhailer... It was so awkward!  and we all laughed...

PC: "Don't laugh, be serious."
We: "mhemhahamm (trying not to laugh)"

PC: "Bariss ahaha...  Baris, Sediyah!"

-.- ask us dont laugh he make us laugh more.

haha, then later we march oast, the drum beats so catchy, that i went bouncing to the music.  Then after turning PC saw me bouncing and stare at me before smiling... i immediately march properly, ahahah... =P

Today was quite fun, after that ate at BPP's Long John with squadmates and 2 juniors (and paul talked a lot of nonsense, along with aaron....).

4th August 2005

Recently i heard this song somewhere (cant remember) and realised that i wanted to download this a few years back but i forgot, guess i remembered... =)

Title: Don't Dream It's Over
Artist: Crowded House

There is freedom within
there is freedom without

Try to catch the deluge in a paper cup
There's a battle ahead
many battles are lost
But you'll never see the end of the road
While you're travelling with me

Hey now, hey now
Don't dream it's over
Hey now, hey now
When the world comes in
They come, they come
To build a wall between us
We know they won't win

Now I'm towing my car
there's a hole in the roof
My possessions are causing me suspicion but there's no proof
In the paper today tales of war and of waste
But you turn right over to the T.V. page

Now I'm walking again
to the beat of a drum
And I'm counting the steps
to the door of your heart
Only shadows ahead
barely clearing the roof
Get to know the feeling of liberation and relief

Don't let them win
